New Facility to become the official home for local premier soccer organization FC Revolution. Touchline facility to offer leagues and instruction for multiple sports.
Wyomissing, January 30, 2010: GAMEFACE INTERNATIONAL, LLC today announced it has acquired the Grand Slam Sports Complex, located at 2816 Old Pricetown Rd, in Temple, PA 19560.
The Grand Slam facility, located near the former Crab Barn restaurant, was originally called the Timberline Ice Rink, and will be renamed the GAMEFACE Sports Complex. The complex includes the area’s largest indoor turf arena and outdoor rink. Plans for improved indoor and outdoor training areas, including the installation of a new state-of-the-art touchline turf playing surface, will be installed this spring.
“This acquisition will set us apart from almost every premier soccer club on the east coast, said FC Revolution club founder and GAMEFACE co-owner Eric Puls. We are thrilled with this opportunity to better serve not only the FC Revolution family, but all soccer and sports communities. We have been utilizing this facility for several years, and were extremely excited when we were approached by the current ownership group with this opportunity.”
GAMEFACE will continue to house the in-line and dek hockey leagues on the outdoor lighted rink, as well as their popular futsal tournaments and leagues. Local adult field hockey leagues and premier youth field hockey training sessions will continue at the complex. The successful Reading Express professional arena football team will continue to practice at the facility, as will the second year NPSL FC Reading Revolution men’s soccer team.
“We’re looking to make many improvements, said GAMEFACE co-owner Mike Moyer. There is a lot of unused space in and around the main building.” Future phases will include a new outdoor training area, concession upgrades, and a new speed and conditioning training/goalkeeper area. In addition to league play, the facility will run year round camps, coaching clinics, player development programs, and other events and festivals.
“Having access to multiple year-round training areas will significantly enhance the overall environment of FC Revolution, which will set us apart from all other clubs, said Puls. Our regional and national experience in managing both indoor and outdoor events of all sizes will help us to service athletes in all sports as the improvements continue, which will include a new ‘Boot Room Lounge’ for our premier club players.”
GAMEFACE will be relocating its offices to the new facility and is currently exploring several retail and food service options to enhance their full service goals. Facility rental times are available upon request. Sponsorship packages are now available, and all interested parties should contact Eric Puls or Mike Moyer at 610-927-6291.
